The programme surpassed my expectations in so many ways. I took full advantage of the programme to grow, personally and consequently in my current role. When I was first informed about the NuTalent mentorship I was under the impression that it will be career-oriented, little did I expect it to touch on the core matters that define and drives one’s preferences. The way the mentorship is structured really ensures a sustainable and progressive growth for the individual; performance improvement and the improvement of other personal relations are guaranteed. Working through the Eneagram report which highlights one’s dominating and weak personal styles, I had mixed feelings of encouragement and fear. It was quite uncomfortable stretching myself out to improve on the lacking Eneagram styles in order to balance out my Eneagram profile; this infused a lot of fear as it does not come naturally but is something that I need to work on consciously and continuously. Seeing the results of my efforts to balance my Eneagram brings feelings of contentment, and it is an encouragement to me to continue working on myself for my benefit and thus for the benefit of those around me. I am now confidently aware of my dominating Eneagram style which I am also working on to maintain. Through this programme, my self-awareness has improved to another level and it has led to self-love, improved assertiveness, a healthy level of taking and sharing responsibility, effective communication, and I feel empowered to make sound decisions.

I have come to realise that an individual who is content and self-aware, relates better with others and is more willing to sacrifice to accommodate others where his/her Eneagram style is either dominating or weak. A culture that speaks to everyone’s values is achieved, to a certain extent, through sacrifices.
